Philanthropy & Advocacy.
Liberty is a local company that happens to have an international footprint. Throughout the year, we host “Liberty Days” community participation programs throughout our service territory. Our people dedicate their time supporting local charities and taking part in local community events. We volunteer to work fundraisers, coordinate donations for food banks, provide construction assistance, and more depending on the needs of each community.
In April 2020, we announced a $500,000 donation to go towards helping our local communities in response to the COVID-19 health crisis. These funds are being used to address the specific needs of our communities, including supporting our local partners across the business, providing local community grants, and supporting our customers who are in the most serious need. Liberty is also helping our local frontline heroes by donating excess Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help ensure that our frontline healthcare heroes receive the protection they need as they continue to provide critical assistance to many individuals in Canada and the United States.
In true Liberty spirit, all employees had a voice in where to direct the funds in their local communities, so we could be sure to give where the need was strongest.

Liberty Days
Christa Atchison, CEcD, MoCED, Business & Community Development Manager II shared her recent Liberty Days activity.
"Each year since my dad passed, my mom, Mary, and I place flags at Veterans' graves for Memorial Day in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton in memory of him. He is an Army Vietnam Veteran. This year it was pouring rain but that did not stop us. Other families as well as Scout groups, church groups, civic groups, and more joined us. There are currently 1980 Veterans laid to rest in this cemetery. We come back the first weekend in June to remove the flags."
